What do you think of this little story/excerpt?

it's definitely interesting. i'm not exactly sure what Fork is. As an excerpt it seems fine. As a story, i feel like there is important stuff missing (what is the artifact, what/who is fork) I personally like a lot of descriptions so maybe a little bit more in the tunnel (it has a fast pace so too much description could also slow it down a lot, which may very well be a negative thing) lastly, if it's underground, how can low branches hit him? i like the roots hitting him though. I thought that was creative. Overall it's not too shabby.
