Accounting question?

The new accountant can't understand why there is a need for a statement of cash flows. She says that a comparative balance sheet will show the change in the Cash account, and that should be enough information. What is your response to this opinion? What is the purpose of the statement of cash flows and why is it just as important as the other three financial statements?
