Is it stupid to not want to do a Barney party theme for my 2 year old?

My daughter LOVES Barney, but my husband and I (and the rest of the world) dislike him intensely. LOL. She also likes Curious George and Elmo, but not as much as Barney. Should I just go w/ her favorite character for a party theme or pick one of the other character's she likes who aren't as outdated? I feel like I should go w/ Barney b/c she loves him, but then again, she's 2 and won't really remember who she liked at this age when she's older. Just wondering if anyone has recently thrown a Barney party? No mean responses please. :)
